Face in a Case from Faces Beautiful is basically the product that every woman needs, and I’m about to tell you why.
What is Face in a Case?
It’s a small clutch that not only has pockets for your credit cards and cash but also has a compartment to fit an entire face full of makeup- all in one small package. It’s brilliant.
My Face in a Case included:
- Lip Gloss (Really a liquid lipstick, it was pretty pigmented)
- 6 Eyeshadows
- Blush Brush
- Eyeshadow Brush
Basically, everything you need! You can bring it with you anywhere, or leave it at home if you aren’t into taking your makeup with you- but I promise you will want to, even just to show everyone else!
I will admit, I was pretty skeptical when I opened the package and put all of the makeup in the magnetic case (Did I mention everything was magnetic? Which means no losing product in your purse/bag). I loved the colors right away, but I tried swatching them and I wasn’t super impressed. I don’t like to make judgments right out of the gate, so I figured I would give this product the benefit of the doubt, and oh boy am I glad I did.
The Clutch itself is pretty sturdy, and it’s definitely beautiful. I would totally take this with me to a fancy dinner, and no one would guess that half of it is full of my makeup essentials. By the way, you can mix and match the perfect clutch with your perfect makeup palette.
As I mentioned above, I was pretty skeptical about Face in a Case when I first tried the shadows on the back of my hand. The first night after I had received Face in a Case I brought it out onto my vanity and began to apply the product. I realized that the reason they didn’t apply well on the back of my hand is that the shadows are a little hard at first, almost like you have to “break a seal” on them. Once I began applying them (all with the brush provided, except blending of course) I was seriously blown away.
Here’s a little backstory- I apply makeup every day. I have tried more brands and varieties of shadows than any average person. I own literally hundreds of colors from many different brands, so I like to think I know what I am talking about.
Faces Beautiful Shadows in Face in a Case were outstanding. I don’t say that lightly either. I started out being very on the fence about them, and once I got them on the lid, I fell in love. They blended great, but they didn’t smear all over my eyes. Once you got it where you wanted though, only makeup remover could get it off. The colors were great! And now for the kicker- These shadows stayed on ALL DAY. I don’t just mean 6 hours either, I mean 16 hours of hard tests.
The Bronzer was great! I loved it and it blended beautifully with my skin. The blush was pretty decent, but I had to work with it a bit more to get the right look I was going for.
The Mascara formula is actually pretty great, but I’m not crazy about the wand. It’s a little too small and made it hard to get all of my top lashes. It’s great for the bottom lashes though.
The lipgloss/liquid lipstick is amazing. A little sticky when you first apply it but once it sets a bit the finish and feeling of it is spot on! Super pigmented as well.
I put these eyeshadows on at about 4 am. My entire face was done, I did a little work online, and then took a nap (Yeah, my sleep schedule is a little wonky, but it works for me). I took a small nap and woke up with my eye makeup exactly how I had left it, which is surprising, because normally when I fall asleep my eyes water quite a lot. These shadows stuck through that no problem.
Next, My sister and I took my nephews to the Public Museum. Imagine two twin four-year-olds in a place where lots of breakables are, now imagine running after said four-year-olds for three hours. It’s enough to make anyone’s makeup run and smear, except mine didn’t. We left the museum at about 12:30 pm. My makeup had now been on for about 8 hours, and it was still going strong.
We went and ate lunch, and then we decided since the kids were actually being quite good, and the day was still young, we would also head to the zoo that was around the corner. I checked my makeup in the visor mirror when we pulled into the zoo, my makeup was still looking pretty great, though I could see a bit of fading in the shadows. We walked around the zoo for about 3 hours and headed for home. By this time I could notice a little more “Fading” but not much. No creasing, no smearing. This stuff stayed put.
We ran a few errands after that and finally pulled into the driveway after the longest day of my life at about 8:30 pm. My makeup had been on for a full 16 hours, through napping, outdoor walks, sweating, and eating. I am not kidding you. I did no touch ups, besides lipgloss. My foundation had basically melted off my face, taking the blush and bronzer inevitably with it, but my eye makeup made it! I even got some compliments along the way.
About Faces Beautiful Founder Gail
Through my years working as an energy derivatives broker and trader on Wall Street I realized each and everyday how utterly unfulfilled I felt. Yes, I succeeded and applied my education appropriately, but I knew that life is meant to be so much more than that. While raising my children and building my career, I took a position at a hedge fund closer to home. It was so close that I could bike back and forth everyday, thereby solving the problem of fitting an exercise routine into my already too busy day.
One day, as I was biking home, I was hit by a car. That was my “aha” moment. I questioned what was I doing with my life. I realized I had lost my passion, and I felt a void in the part of me that craved creativity. In the months that followed the accident, I picked up my paintbrush, only this time my canvas was to be the face of women.
I didn’t set out to create just another cosmetic company. I wanted my brand to create beauty products that solve problems for women, products that simplified life, and were healthy. Ironically, I gained a comprehension of petroleum components on Wall Street and how they often find their way into cosmetic products. This became one of my inspirations to commit to creating products that were health conscious. I am devoted to create innovative products that make women’s lives better. I now understand that beauty is the ultimate form of self-expression that allows women to radiate confidence and empowerment.
The Face in a Case® you see today is the perfected product from years of input from countless women as to their beauty desires. It is the genesis of years of trial and error. I know women will love it and buy it proving it was all worth it.
Overall, I am very happy with Face in a Case. I would recommend it to others who are looking for something portable and high quality. Face in a Case Cosmetics are also vegan, cruelty-free and formulated without parabens. You all know how much I love products that are cruelty-free.
