Beessential is one of those brands that sneaks up behind you and stings you right in the hind end (oh the puns). Right out of the gate, I was a little wary about this line because in the past I haven’t had the greatest luck with “beeswax” products. I had to give them a try, and I was pleasantly surprised when a few of these products made it into my daily routines like they had always been there.
Beessential Shampoo & Conditioner
The Shampoo and Conditioner were the very first two products that I tried. The scent is very minimal. Obviously, I tried the shampoo first and was blown away by how concentrated this is. About a nickel-sized amount in the palm of your hand is seriously all I needed, and normally I end up having to use a handful because of my ridiculously thick hair. After I rinsed it, I noticed my hair didn’t feel as stripped as it normally does right after shampooing. I proceeded on to the conditioner.
I’m gonna be honest here, this conditioner isn’t my all time favorite. It works, but you definitely have to follow the directions on the bottle and let it sit in your hair for the three minutes it specifies. This gives your hair time to soak up all that goodness the conditioner is laying down. Normally, I just throw some conditioner in there and rinse it out because generally, I am in a pretty big hurry to get out of the shower and on with my day. I followed the directions the first time, and then the second time I tried to just get away with putting it in and rinsing it out. This conditioner doesn’t work like that. I’m not saying it’s not good or didn’t work because it definitely did, but I am saying that it’s not for me.
Beessential Hand Creams
Many of you know that I recently had Carpal Tunnel surgery and that I just went back to work. I was left with a big scar and hands that are not used to the industrial soap we use anymore. My first day back was seriously one of the worst work days of my entire life. I was in pain, my hands were so dry from the soap they felt like they were going to crack, and just in general, my heart wasn’t in my work. I knew I had to start softening my scar, and I also needed a hand cream that could add back in that moisture that our soap was taking out. So I brought the Beecology Original Honey Hand & Body Cream with me the next day. Seriously, what a difference!
Every hour or so I would head into the office at my job and dab a bit on my scar and rub it in. It was keeping my hands soft, and my scar more flexible. Since I was rubbing it in it was also loosening something else in there because my hands felt considerably better during that shift than the one before it.
The Beessential Lavender Hand & Body Cream is also very good, but not quite as thick and luxurious as The Original. If you want a little scent in your hand cream though, this is the way to go.
I enjoyed all of these products, but the two standouts to me were the shampoo and the original hand cream. The hand cream is everything I need in a product, and the shampoo cleans without causing dryness.
