At my house, we are always looking for ways to spice up normal everyday water. I know I don’t drink enough water, mostly because after a while the taste gets, well, boring! Instead of adding sugar filled drink mixes to the water (which sort of defeats the purpose), I came up with a flavored water recipe that not only looks great but taste great as well.
This is perfect for barbecues, sitting around the pool and even everyday drinking if you are looking to increase your water intake. After it sits about 12 hours it tastes like juice, but it’s only fresh fruit and veggies in water! The strawberries even turn it pink!
The longer it sits the better it tastes! You can even reuse the same ingredients in the pitcher up to three times, as long as they aren’t sitting for more than a week. Once they look yucky, it’s time to toss them out.
Here’s what you need for this Flavored Water Recipe:
- 1 Cucumber
- 1 Quart Strawberries
- 2 Limes
- 1 Kiwi
- 1/4 cup Fresh Crushed Mint Leaves (We bought an entire plant so we can make this recipe again and again)
- 2-quart pitcher
Star by slicing up all of your ingredients, then layer them into the pitcher with ice. Fill the pitcher up with cold water and let it sit in the fridge for 20-30 minutes before drinking. This gives the ingredients time to infuse the water.
You can customize this how you like. My husband isn’t a fan of cucumber, so if I were making this for him I would take it out.
This Flavored Water Recipe is an easy way to keep hydrated and flush out those toxins in your body. And it also only takes about 10 minutes to make!
